Recurring tooth ache?

We return here to an article from over two years ago when we said.....

As of April 28th, the application to turn Mima Cada on the Avenue into a Dentists has been withdrawn - but then in June we get a notice to say that it has been approved but with a reduced car parking facility (5 cars)

Initial feedback from Residents was mixed, with Worcester Rd residents in particular concerned about noise, increased pollution and the danger from the reduced visibility access onto this increasingly busy local "rat-run"

"Parking is bound to overflow to surrounding
roads which would not be able to cope. The development would be intrusive and would also add to the traffic on local roads. In addition, vehicular access to the property could be dangerous due to the "blind" corner in The Avenue"

Ingress Park residents are more concerned about being overviewed by visitors to the Dentist but accept that this could be overcome by judicial use of fencing.

"We feel there are more than enough Dental Surgeries in the local areas but if there has to be one why can't it be in the ever increasing new housing projects, such as Ingress Park where new buyers have the choice whether they want to live next to a Dental Practice, a choice we do not"

It is possible that this application tapped into some longer term local concerns of Village residents about over development. On the other hand Ingress Park residents, who are so far without a shop or any other service on the estate might have welcomed some facilities on a more local scale.

Back in 2007 we note that the dentists honoured their promise to build suitable fencing and that there have been few, if any, incidents of excessive noise or traffic

"The idea of cars to-ing and fro-ing just isn't what we want."
