This, and a few other security issues you may want to be aware of. If you are interested in helping please join your neighborhood watch o-0-o-
Ken from up in Calcroft has emailed me this morning drawing
attention to the possibility of
another premium rate phone scam. North Kent police have warned of these before and they can take many guises. Sometimes
you may receive a message on your answerphone requesting you call back. The
latest may be a note through your door telling you of a parcel that needs collecting,
and then giving an 090 number to arrange delivery.
Please may I therefore remind one and all to be aware of
any 090 numbers.
We have had a spate of badges stolen from cars, youngsters being
to blame for a badge swapping collection etc. Please be vigilant in your area as
we don't want it starting up again as it is costly to car owners!-o-0-o- Dear everyone,
You’ll
all have seen that lead is being stolen from all over
The people
who steel it look like contractors apparently, and therefore please keep an eye
open for anyone who appears to be “working on” any of our houses or flats!
They won’t be “acting suspiciously” I imagine, otherwise they would probably have
been caught by now. I saw a white contractors’ vehicle, sort of “pick up”
type van a week or two ago, it might have been theirs but I thought nothing of it.
It just looked “normal”.
I’ve activated the PIRs on the outside lights along my terrace so that anyone jumping onto the terrace or putting ladders against it will find the lights come on!!!! Please look out from time to time and if you see them light up note any “contractors” on terrace, date and time of “call” and description of people! The only bona fide people who get onto my terrace are the window cleaners
We should
report to Police at
It appears Peverel has had a lot of complaints about the
increasing number of residents' commercial vehicles on site. They intend to
address this issue in the fairly near future by ticketing those persistently parking
overnight.
However, this has brought up the question as to what constitutes
a commercial vehicle. Look on the internet and it will tell you it is any
vehicle used within the context of your work (other than to and from your normal
workplace). Our Covenants are also clear, we are not allowed one "of any description".
This makes the definition far reaching - but I don't think anyone would expect a
normal looking company car to be removed.
What would YOU consider to be commercial?
